We use a signed visitor cookie to maintain weekly report allowances and authentication cookies to keep you signed in. Verification providers may use cookies or similar storage to prevent abuse. For anonymous quota protection, we store a weekly keyed hash of the network address, not the raw IP, in quota records. IPv6 addresses are grouped by /64. Network usage outside the latest three weekly periods is removed during report requests. People sharing a network may need verified sign-in. These functions support account security and delivery of the requested service.
