How to read these figures

Read the three statements together

The income statement tracks activity over a period, the balance sheet shows a position at a date, and cash flow explains movements in cash. A profit does not necessarily arrive as cash in the same period. Compare receivables, investment spending and financing alongside earnings.

Compare like periods

Annual, quarterly and trailing-twelve-month views answer different questions. Seasonality can make adjacent quarters misleading. Check the fiscal dates and reporting currency before comparing figures; company-specific line items can differ from standard summaries.

What should I investigate next?

Check whether changes in revenue are accompanied by changes in margins and operating cash flow. The figures alone cannot establish whether a movement came from pricing, acquisitions or a one-off item. Read the linked filing for management’s explanation and the accounting notes.
